JOURNAL

For my final GD layout for May over at

I decided to scrap a photo of a Journal I created last year .
it is CHOCK A BLOCK full of different size pages, corrugated cardboard, photos ,
pockets with photos and Journaling
I feel writing is such an important part of scrapping.
History is sometimes "LOST" without some form of documentation.

'JOURNAL'

I used the stunning Prima / Romantic Novel Collection  of papers
such a versatile range and perfect for journaling .

I have journaled on each tab/tag
 to treasure the memories .
even the title is created from the papers .
PROCESS
MY Foundation : I began with white cardstock,
stamping with the Prima Trellis stamp,
Kaiser bubble wrap stamp, and a Hero Arts text stamp .
Splatters of Black, Coffee Shop, and SugarPlum Fairy ink add interest
and some stitching down each side for a final touch .
Next I mounted my photo and began layering the tabs and tags , which I journalled on.
quite a simple layout with lots of precious memories .

thanks so much to Olga for having me this month of May
I had such fun playing with these yummo papers and embellies .
hope I have inspired you

Bursting with happiness !!

I am so excited to reveal
my very first layouts as a Design Team member for
 2crafty

a big thankyou to Vanessa and Di
for having me as part of this awesome team of creative talents

'BLING'
This layout is loaded with stunning chippies
as I was creating this page I kept adding and adding more and more
I guess it has something to do with the magnificent photograph
taken by the super multi talented
Deryn Mentock
thanks so much Deryn for allowing me to use this photo
pop over to see the stunning metal jewellery Deryn creates .

I have used two Fob watches on this layout ,
this one is inked and placed among the cluster of flowers and foliage .
this divine  Tahnyas border is inked in Versa Color ink/ celadon
and poked under the mounted photo, giving texture and interest
around the edge of the photo .

above is the Fob Watches   which I inked with Versa color ink / celadon
and inserted it into a circular metal frame .
I inked the Bella Flourish in Celdon Versa color ink and added a splash of gesso .

the foundation for this layout is Tim Holtz Dark Kraft Paper .
I love the look of teal and kraft .
I layered several papers , added clusters of Green Tara flowers
and of course the 2crafty chippies .
warm thanks to Deryn for the use of this magnificent photo .

my second Layout starring my beautiful GD, Ella Jai xoxo
SIMPLY PHOTOGRAPHIC

'LOVE'
here I used a foundation of Prima paper , layered over Dark Kraft .
stamping , gesso and washi tape add texture to the paper.
the leafy foliage is from Cottage Cutz .
I trimmed the Parisian Border inked them in Tim Holtz Distress ink /rusty Hinge and layered
the pieces under the mounted photo .

I inked the fencing wire panel in Tim Holtz distress ink/Rusty Hinge.
Again I trimmed the panel and only used a small piece on the corner under the blooms .
I love to cut the chipboard and use the left over pieces on other layouts.

here I have used a tiny left over piece from the corner elegant set
sometimes all I require is a tiny piece to fill a small gap .

my third layout today
I created a month ago

'CELEBRATE'
here I used the remaining pieces of the Parisian Border, treated with gesso and when dry dabbed with Versa color ink/ rose .
I chose to draw attention to the white bloom
by placing the tiny Henris frame and butterfly over it .

thanks for dropping by
and hope I have inspired you .
bye for now

GOLDEN days of AUTUMN

My May DT project for
"paying it forward"
I'm giving this card away to one of you .
follow me on bloglovin and leave me a comment so your name can go into the draw .
I will draw the winner on 12th May Mothers day

'Celebrate'

I decided to create a card this month …
Autumn is always a busy time in my garden, and one of my very favourite times of the year.
In April the first golden leaves appear on the deciduous trees, and It’s always a wonderful pleasure for me to drag my feet through the fallen leaves that carpet parts of my garden.
I adore watching  my little black kitten Raven , frollicking  and playing with delight .
This card reminds me of nature with the divine ‘Ode to a Summer’s day collection ‘.
PROCESS
The papers are all mix and match so this card is a great way to utilise all your left over ‘scraps’ .
I used various Spellbinder die cuts – fancy tags and nested pennants, added some die cut leaves and a beautiful lacy bloom..
All on a base of ‘Ode to a Summers Day collection’.
When completed, I adhered this to pale green bazzill, toning in with the papers
Inside  I added some stamping, masking  and Tim Holtz tissue tape .
The two die cuts for the leaves are –
Cottage cutz/ leafy foliage ( available from Megs Garden )
Memory Box /Cottage leaf

 banner and bloom
a closie of the banner .
inside view of the card

Megs Garden products used .
Ode to a Summer's Day Collection
Buds of May
P6335
Summer Bouquet
P6336
Summers's Dance
P6337
Die cut - COTTAGE CUTZ/leafy foliage

Thanks for popping by and do have a look at the website and look at all the beautiful papers and embellies … they are perfect for cards and tags … I give
my cards with a gift and many of my friends say the card is a gift in itself …. That warms my heart .

I'm giving this card away to one of you .

follow me on bloglovin and leave me a comment so your name can go into the draw .
drawn 12th May - Mothers day

Hugz to you all xoxo

GRUNGE/ TEXTURE and VINTAGE

MAY GUEST DESIGNER for
A GREAT BIG THANKS to Olga for inviting me
and sending me such yummy papers and delish elements.

Today I am sharing with you a Grunge layout

'MEMORIES'

showcasing some photos from a Desert Trip back in 2008
Baden(my hubby) and his mates traveled along the very rugged 'Canning Stock Route'
which meanders through the middle of Australia
 8 Guys, 3 Vehicles, 8,000 Kms.
They had the most amazing adventure, which they still talk and laugh about,
and lucky, lucky me, having 2.000 photos to play with.
I created a mini book with 60 of the photos back in 2009.
Today I created a very Rustic and Textured Layout .

close up of the banner featuring the glorious Kaiser Base coat collection
I fell in love with this entire Range, which is just Perfect for rustic/grunge layouts

Kaiser materials used
Basecoat Whitewash
Basecoat Concrete

For this layout I used some corrugated board as my base.
I grunged it up by tearing sections to reveal the corrugation
then I began staining, painting, inking, stamping, sanding.
I wanted to create a foundation to represent the colors, texture and the rustic rawness
of the Australian outback .
I cut the paper into strips, using both sides
 and kept layering the strips
until I was happy .
lastly I added the mounted photos and elements .
this was a fun and messy project to create .

Please have a go at creating one of these rustic pages as really
all you do is keep adding and layering, if you are not happy
just add another layer of ink or paint!
It is really that easy, trust me  !!!

other materials used
Prima acrylic stamp / trellis
Kaiser acrylic stamp/ bubble wrap
Tim Holtz Distress ink /Rusty Hinge
Tim Holtz Alterations /Sizzix/ Tag
Tim Holtz Alterations/ Pediments*Frontone*frontones.
Tim Holtz kraft -Core / Rusty Hinge
Tim Holtz / crackle paint./rusty hinge stain
Tim Holtz / tissue tape/film strip .
2Crafty chipboard/ tags/chicken wire
Graphic45 /metal hinge
black versa color ink
gesso and machine stitching

thanks for looking everyone and I hope I have inspired you
to have a play with these Rustic papers from Kaiser .

The only requirement's are that you create your layout on Kraft Patterned Paper
or Kraft Cardstock and your entry must be created for this challenge ONLY!!!

Here is my VINTAGE creation

'Heritage '
I've had this photo of these old damaged chairs for some time
and when I discovered  the theme for MAY was Vintage,
I thought 'YES' I can now use that photo .

I just adore working with these 2crafty chippies .
The title Heritage works perfectly with my Vintage themed layout .
I used Versa color ink / rose and then dabbed a small amount of black around the edges.
stamping, stitching, inking and cluster of flowers and labels all add to the Vintage feel .

thanks for looking everyone and I hope I have inspired you.
