VELVETY PURPLE BERRIES

Berries and Flickering Candles remind me of Christmas.

Hello everyone, showcasing the NEW CHRISTMAS PAPERS
designed by Denise for  MEGS GARDEN

These are just the most delish Collection, I had such fun creating with these deep, rich velvety colors.
The entire page is created with 2 patterned papers . The Main paper is Christmas berry stripes paper , and the other paper is used to mount the photo multiple times, with some  fussy cut berries .
I decided to turn the Christmas paper  on the side and create a cluster of leaves and flowers surrounding the pic, and of course my trademark stitching in a mustard thread .
The papers are so beautiful they are a truly piece of art on their own .
My layout is backed with two sheets of distressed cardstock .
I chose the purple and fawn as complimentary colors.
The extra strips were perfect for the mounting process and the diecuts.
The mounted photo has 3 layers of Patterned paper and 3 layers of cardstock .

I very rarely do Xmas layouts for a couple of reasons
I do not really enjoy the TRADITIONAL XMAS COLORS
and the photos always seen too chaotic for me
but I embraced these colors with joy .
I AM EXCITED !!!!!!
Here is my take on the new collection

'XMAS'

Materials used
‘New papers’… The Musical Christmas Collection
Christmas Berry stripes P6329
Plum Pudding P6330

Imaginariun designs chipboard – alphas

Tissues boxes are so easy to cover and add such style to any room in your home especially your  bathroom or kitchen .
I used the delightful and enchanting Spring Paisley collection .
PROCESS .... Cover the entire box and then whitewash with light coat of Gesso …
Allow to dry then I added a Memory Box, leaf die cut, using the same Spring Paisley paper collection.
Next I cut some chipboard with the leaf diecut , and inked it with versa color ink, Bamboo .…
I positioned the cluster on one corner,  drooping it over the side  to add interest.
Layering …
Glue the paper leaves directly onto the box,  then layer the chipboard leaves over the top as a second  layer…
Lastly I added another coat of gesso to finish it off.

Materials from Meg’s Garden …
SPRING PAISLEY PAPER COLLECTION.
Other items
Gesso
Memory box diecut

I encourage you to have a go at covering your own tissue box to add to your home décor, it is easy and fun

I Hope I have inspired you to have a play, and remember these papers are also perfect  for Xmas Cards …

  12. I'm not a great fan of traditional chrissie pages either, as you say - the photos are always so busy. As I wrote over at Meg's, I'm in total awe of your page. The rich opulent plums and the delicious layers, my goodness Heather this page is as beautiful as it gets! Would so love to have a tissue box as gorgeous as yours, what a delight! Thinking of you both xoxoxo
