My Published Wintery Layout

Early this year, I received an email from my friend
Angella Peardon
asking me to create
a Wintery Layout and an autumn card for Scrapbook Creations .
I was thrilled and of course said yes.
My project is on page 82 of this months
SCRAPBOOK CREATIONS .. No 105 (vol 12 no 7 )
below is my take on a Wintery Layout
Treasured Memories
This photo was taken on one of our many roads trips along the Great Ocean Road.
There are so many fascinating adventureous places and glorious, untouched raw pieces of nature .
I remember the wind being so bitterly cold with the taste of salt as it blew across my face,
I love Nature .. sigh !
The ocean was calm at this moment but there was a huge wave crashing 15 minutes later ,
filling this space, right where I was standing .There is so much enormous power in the Ocean.
The sound of the roaring waves is tremendous.

I used the hexagon shapes to mimic the rough stones, and the chipboard pieces
represent the seawed and pieces found amongst the rocks.
I wanted to create a rustic/rusty feel to there elements as the ocean continually crashes
over these stones and creates these deep, rich, rustic earthy colors.
Imaginarium designs chipboard, Tim Holtz name plate .
Altered with Rusty hinge,Brushed corduroy  distress ink, and gesso.

Textured background with texture paste, gesso, ink and masking.
Materials
White and black Bazzill cardstock
Simple Stories item#2517/orange stripe/Ledger
2crafty chipboard, metal embellishment (miscellaneous)  Imaginarium chipboard,
Collection Chipboard, Vintage brads, washi tape,
Spellbinders /Captivating Squares, Sizzix/ Tags, Tim Holtz Metal Frame/ crackle paint, Liquetex Burnt Sienna ink, Viva Croco Crackling Color, white gesso , black Sharpie pen,  Sage Versa Color ink. Prima stencil /item#569440, distress ink Rusty Hinge/Brushed Corduroy.

  8. Wow!! I am not surprised in the least you are published & am sure thus isn't first time.
The rustic, rusty feel is 'bang on!' - can't believe you achieved it distress inks, looks so real. The mimic of seaweed & rocks is perfect & amazing. Love that your emotions go into your creations in such a seamless, organic way. As said in comment for your previous post (& no pun intended, honest), "Blown Away!!" :)

  10. Of course we like it - never a doubt. No one does these rusty tones better than you. But then I could be a bit biased! Love the "seaweed" and the journalling which brings back happy memories of my trips along this coast line. Splendid Art :D
