'SWEET  DELIGHT'
I am so blessed to have such wonderful photos of my grand daughter to scrap
my beautiful daughter TARA takes all the photos

lots of layering again and it is so easy with Maja Design papers
they all blend and embrace each other so beautifully,
creating a magical symphony of textures. .

combining blooms, metal, bling brad, and washi tape all add to the story of my work .
I love to tuck elements under my photo and layers, adding interest and intrigue.

More yummo layering, with strands of cotton randomly placed among the layers,
adding the perfect finishing touch .

A little late solving case #112

Hi everyone, I am here at last with case file #112
a little late, but better late than never I say !!!

Case file #112

'HOLIDAY'

I struggled with the deep teal , but managed to pop a tiny strip along the right hand side .. sigh x
the brads are the lighter blue.
I love blue but sometimes it proves difficult on a layout
as there are so many different hues in blues and greens .
Nothing quite like a challenge though .....he he he  !!!

Evidence
Patterned background, frame, flower, floral pattern, heart buttons .
Testimony
One Easter we travelled to Byron Bay
by car, for the Blues and Roots Festival .
wow what an amazing holiday .
We arrived the week before the Festival
Spending the days exploring the
stunning beaches and surrounding areas .
So much to discover and breathe into my soul .
Lots of walks and delightful sights.
We soaked in all the glorious sounds of the festival
and had the best time … loved every minute.
A wonderful memory I hold close to my heart xoxo

Birthday Tag for my Man

GOING GRUNGE THIS MONTH
Hello and a warm welcome to My Blog
Today I am sharing my March project for
This month I thought I would create a steampunk / grungy masculine Tag
for my man on his birthday .

Birthday/Valentine Tag

Megs garden papers :
Top Hat & an Automobile
P6355
Take a Roadster for a Spin
P6357
These papers are perfect  for anything masculine .
I feel the little pop of red is a smashing idea, creating contrast to the darkness of the earthy browns
Red is the color of love, so I thought,  with Baden's birthday coming up ,
what better than to create a tag , as an expression of my love .
I covered a tiny heart shape in these papers and tied it with string .

I fussy cut the clock and light bulb and stacked them securing them with a brad .

Some close ups of the details.
I love the look of stacked images and I added some pieces of inked chipboard .

I  feel a tag is in-complete without creating on the back side .
Here is an image of how I  decorated the back with these stunning papers.
I combined this with Baden's Birthday and Valentines day ..
" you are my world and you make my life so amazing in so many ways,
I love you with all my heart and soul !
Happy happy Birthday my darling xoxox "

I added one of my fave Quotes,
( by Mother Teresa )

LIFE
' Is not measured
by the number of breaths we take
but by the number of moments that take
our breath away.'

and my words .....
"Happy Birthday my darling
You are my soul mate, my Valentine, you are my everything .
I love you with all my heart and soul xoxo"

Thanks for looking everyone,
Until next time, take care and happy scrapping x

Published in Somerset Apprentice

I am beyond thrilled and excited
I have some work published in Somerset Apprentice
feeling very blessed

DELICATE
A nature layout . …..  title “Delicate “
Cool greens and blue and white: all created with inks and gesso .
I love working with mixed media and I begin by creating my background first.
I like to use a watercolour technique by applying light layers and keep layering until I am happy with the result .
I aged  The chipboard door with ink, paint and crackle .
I added leafy foliage with text paper and randomly stamped over the background to add texture and interest. The door in my layout to me mirrors the wisdom which comes with age and experience .
I love to weave my emotions into my works, creating both depth and mystery .
Each piece I create is a part of me and my life, and I like to tell a story through the colors and textures. I often journal on my pages and other times on the back of my work .
History is often lost in families and I feel that by journaling emotions, feelings, and stories keeps the past alive for future generations.
I STUMBLED ACROSS THIS DELIGHTFUL POEM .
While working in my garden I have music all around me .
I affirm to myself,
“I Climb to the top of the mountain,
Look around, see the perfect balance
of masculine and feminine energy.
I allow that balance to come alive in my body
And breathe in the magic of life.
People come and go leaving us gifts.
These gifts are the elements of growth – new beginnings.
Each person is like a doorway to open and explore
as I choose my path on life’s journey .”
author unknown .

Maja design - Lady in Pink

Hello and Welcome to all my scrapping Sistas'
My Maja Design March project

Today I am sharing a card I created for a friend.

'Friendship card '
We have been friends for many years and I wanted to make a statement and create lots of stylish layers , representing the various experiences we have had together and the many layers of our friendship and life.
I began by cutting white card and folding it into three sections.
I created my layers with the Spellbinders Nestabilities.
I cut a piece of paper 7’ x 4’ for my base , and then proceeded to add my layers.
Beginning with the largest die cut and stacking them in various papers in the Vintage Autumn Basics collection.

I completed my card cover by fussy cutting the elegant lady and added her to the top of my stacked diecuts. A Vintage brad adds the finishing touch to my cover.
I love to carry my embellishments to the inside of my cards
and watch the expressions on my friends face as she reads the poem.

This card contains one of my fave poems.
I also added a stacked tag with a tie, and a diecut folded in half and placed around the edge of the card. Stamp with a friendship stamp and add a strip of Tim Holt tissue tape .

Here is a copy of my poem for you to keep .
Twelve gifts just for you
Happiness – deep down within.
Serenity – with each sunrise.
Success – in each facet of your life.
Family - beside you.
Close and caring friends.
Health – inside you .
Love – that never ends.
Special memories – of all the yesterdays.
A bright today – with much to be thankful for .
A path – that leads to beautiful tomorrows.
Dreams – that do their best to come true .
Appreciation – of all the wonderful things about you !

Maja Design materials.
Vintage Autumn Basics No1, No 11,  No 111,
Vintage Frost Basics 19th of December .
Tim Holtz Tissue tape, white card, stamp, Spellbinders diecuts, vintage brad.
Thanks for dropping by and I do hope you are inspired to create with these super duper papers.
Until next time , stay safe and happy scrapping x.

Maja Design - March Mood Board

Hello and a big warm welcome my friends.
sharing a Friendship card today .

Rich and vibrant colors for my Friendship card.
I used the Vintage Autumn Basics collection. for the March Mood Board .

Friendship

I layered the cover with elements, tags and chipboard. I love the clocks on these papers and they add the perfect finish to a stacked theme .

I continued the theme inside the card , adding a tag and a heart, to the gorgeous gingham blue check.
On the opposite side I stamped on white bazzil, cut into a rectangle and over lapped it on the gingham strip .
Love this quote “ A sure sign of a good friendship LAUGHTER,  a reason for many smiles and it’s happiness that you can hear “

I have made this card feminine, by adding ribbon, bling and floral….
but it also lends itself to a masculine feel 'without' the ribbon and girly touches
and adding metal and wooden elements.

Maja Design papers used .
Vintage autumn Basics No XV1, X1X, XX111, XX1, Heritage .
Thanks for popping by and please take a look at this collection, you will absolutely fall in love with it .
Until next time, have fun x
