BIRTHDAY BOOK

A dear friend of mine asked me to make a birthday book for her "MUM" who was having her 80th birthday.
Betty's fave colors are pink and green and she also loves soft lace and ribbon..
I decorated the cover and the first double page and then the family filled the book by adding a photo and a handwritten message by each family member..
Betty absolutely loved it ...

AFFIRMATION BOARD

I was going through my stash and I discovered some of this Graphic45 paper..
one of my very fave collections...
so I decided to create this AFFIRMATION BOARD ....
it's home is the kitchen where I can glance at it during the day
and affirm positive thoughts to myself..

The affirmation reads..

The Color Room ..... PALETTE #59

for some reason I found this palette a real challenge !!!!!??????

I began 3 times and have been working on it for 2 days ??????
then I decided to walk away, and give myself time to refresh my ideas ...
I was determined not to let it get the better of me though..
I finally completed it today ..whew !!!!!
I have so many bits and pieces left-over so I'll be making some cards..
Here is my take on the palette
I inked the chippies with Versa Color "old rose" .. the title and the butterfly are from Imaginarium designs ...click HERE to be inspired ...

BEAUTIFUL BIRTHDAY CARD AND A MINI BOOK

TODAY is my birthday ..... I have been celebrating for 4 days.. lunch and dinner with precious close friends of mine, lunch today with my twin sister Laine, and niece Fiona, and two more celebrations next week ..
last night we celebrated at "THE POT" on King william road .. an amazing dining delight .... a delicious and beautiful experience .... lots of gorgeous pressies ...

TREASURE NUMBER 2... this is a class where we are creating little treasures each month and ending with a BOX OF TREASURES at the end of the year ...

It is now time to add ANOTHER TREASURE .
this treasure is a small paper bag containing 2 tags ... using the stunning graphic 45 paper....
and of course some more delicious IMAGINARIUM CHIPPIES






This is a shot of a box I have covered to hold my treasures ....
we will be creating another bigger box at the end of the year to hold all of our treasures ...

I have inked the flourish and the alphas in black.... glimmer misted the butterfly in Latte and covered the small heart in p.paper ... such beautiful quality to work with ....

this month the challenge was to create a LO with NO patterned paper ...
it was more difficult than I first thought .. but I am happy with the end result ..

A LITTLE BIT ADDICTED

TO THESE CHIPPIES !!! from IMAGINARIUM DESIGNS
I had some cogs leftover from my last LO, so I designed a page to fit them ....

I AM TEACHING THIS PAGE...
on JULY 30TH AT 1.30 P.M.

A photo of delightful little Jacob (Mel & Simon's son )was perfect for this colour combo ... Tara took the shot a few years ago when Jacob was a toddler ....
I just love the intense look .....

I inked and layered the cogs, stitched right through the alphas and then kept the layering theme going by adding lots of tags, and adding texture with corrugated cardboard, muslin and string ...
AND of course my signature stitching !!!!!! orange this time !!!!!

IMAGINARIUM DESIGNS & GRAPHIC 45 LO to share

I have been wanting to scrap this photo for a while now ..
I took a whole series of them back in 2008 when we were staying with our extra special friends on their delightful farm in Victoria ..

MY INGREDIENTS..

IMAGINARIUM DESIGNS .... yummo chippies.. cogs and alphas.
TIM HOLTZ .. film strip, tissue tape, tickets, grunge paper, pewter clips and grunge board.
7Gypsies .. tags
all attached to a GRAPHIC 45 background paper .

I also applied the Tim Holtz distress Ink ( rusty hinge) to the envelope and grungeboard to create a rusty effect .. I rather like this "GRUNGY LOOK" .... woohoo !!!
