FUN WITH STACKED ELEMENTS

HELLO AND A WARM WELCOME TO MY BLOG.
SHARING A MAJA DESIGN PROJECT TODAY
to be inspired over at Maja Design

I love making handmade cards for birthdays and celebrations ,
and this one was very special to me,
as we recently Celebrated our daughter's 40th Birthday .

Today I am sharing this easel  card I created for our Daughters 40th Birthday. Tara loves denim blue and white, so it was very easy to gather some beautiful papers that co-ordinate.  I decided to use 'Jeans' – from the Walking in the Forest collection as my base combined with White cardstock . to begin I folded my card in white Bazzill . I then  cut my base  6 x 6 in 'Jeans',  for the  stacked elements . I always create my cover separately , stack my elements and then adhere it to my white bazzill. One of my faves is to add stitching and make it arty by stitching slightly crooked lines and using alternative colored cotton.

'CELEBRATE '

NESTABILITIES DIECUTS

a different perspective - top view .

I adore these stacked elements as it is a great way to use up scraps and also the dimension it gives is quite intriguing .
I notice when I give a stacked elements card the receiver always holds it up and looks in-between the layers. Makes me smile .
You can use any type of diecut you desire and there is a beautiful selection of papers to blend and co-ordinate .

These are the word I wrote inside the card ....As you walk through life keep Ten friends by your side .
Truth, Courage , Tenderness, Curiosity, Loyalty, Understanding, laughter, Friendship, Trust and Love.

Always believe in yourself and your dreams . happy birthday Tardy, to our wonderful precious Daughter. We love you to the moon and back . Congrats on reaching 40 years and may you have 40 more fabulous years here on earth , doing what you love .
Lots of love and hugz .. Mum and Dad xoxox

Masculine Tag inside a pocket

Sharing my 'Megs Garden Design team' creation for January .

Hello my scrappy friends, today I am showcasing a
Masculine "Celebration" Tag in a Pocket.
Created with the Automobile Parts P6354
to go to Megs Garden

Masculine tag in a pocket

The Tag is slightly larger than the pocket and is created with Kraft paper .
Stamp the tag and a fold a 3 inch piece of paper over the top section of the tag to add interest.

This is such a simple yet striking masculine tag in a pocket.
My base is Kraft cardstock .
I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities die cut … Labels Twenty-One.
There are 5 dies in the pack and I alternated 3 sizes with Automobile parts collections and Kraft paper.

I completed the stack by adding the stunning vintage clock and secured it with a brad.

Items used from Megs Garden
Automobile Parts
P6354
Old World Time
P2063
A collection of timepieces to add to any project .
I hope I have inspired you to have a play and create your own tag in a pocket.
Until next time

'WINTER' layout Published in Scrap365

Hello my lovelies
today I am sharing a layout I had published in Scrap365 November 2013
my brief was to create a Winter layout
Winter is a fave time of the year for me ...
I used the beautiful Maja Design paper Collection to create with
Fika - VÃ¥ffla m björnbärssylt  and Björnbarskakor - bs
I added pops of Kraft and White Bazzill

'WINTER'
Winter :
Crisp clean air and the crunch of frost under foot. Dewy shadows that never dry out and the lichen glowing green and grey on dark trunks.
It was not until I was in my thirties that I experienced my first sight of snow . Wow !!!
Such a magical miracle of nature and the hidden jewels of Winter.
This pic was taken while spending time in The Snowy Mountains in Victoria Australia in 1980’s era .
Near a little country town called Bright .
Winter is a wonderful time of the year.  The circle represents the circle of life and the changing seasons. The white is the snow and for me the purple is about the color of intuition and the way nature intuitively knows about regeneration. Winter  is a time to reflect, a time of hibernation from life’s distractions, fireside gatherings,  the beanie, scarf, coat and woolly socks ..  toast from the burning embers and a mug of something warm and nourishing . Winter is a time which reminds me that nature is still very much in control .
I feel This beautiful paper from  Maja Design is absolutely perfect to showcase a winter theme .

lots of tags and dies to embellish this LO .
thanks for popping by my blog and looking at my work .
I am so grateful you take the time to leave me some love.
you make my day
until next time

Maja Design January Project

Hello and welcome my scrapping sistas !!
Today I am sharing PART ONE of my Maja Design January projects.
I designed this layout using the magical ‘Walking in the Forest’ collection.
Beautiful Deep, Rich, Warm Earthy colors .
to go to the Maja Design Blog

'INSPIRE'
This magnificent  photograph was taken by the amazing George Saad .
George kindly gave me permission to use his photos in my scrapbooking works .
here is the link to his facebook page
I named my layout INSPIRE , because nature truly inspires me every day .
it shows me about the never ending cycle of life and the layers of change and evolution.
Nature also shows me about trusting the process of life, and living in the present moment .
I began by tearing the paper (jeans), distressed the edges and laid it over the Autumn in the air –bs paper,
leaving room for a small layered cluster : heart , bling brad, diecuts and altered metal element.  .
I had fun adding texture by Lacing sections together with string..
To me the torn strip represents opening my heart and breathing in all life has to offer .
This torn section represents how life sometimes takes a different path where we have to dig deep , open our heart , feel our feelings and trust the process of life . It is in these times where we discover our strengths and courage .

The leaves and various dies are cut using both papers to add different shades and colors .
Under the layers of foliage are some inked chipboard pieces adding depth and texture.

I inked the kraft tag with the Ranger distress ink , Rusty Hinge.
Embossed it, then swiped an alternative colored blue ink over it adding distinction.

Maja Design papers used
Collection: Walking in the Forest – Jeans, Autumn in the Air – bs, Autumn in the air.

Thanks so much for popping by and I do hope I have inspired you to take a look at
The “Walking in the Forest” collection.
Bye for now
